A homeless drunk man and his loyal dog live under a bridge. One day, a big storm comes and changes their destiny. Animated over the pages of 40 old books, Bounce Back is an experimental animation project based on the poem by Hélène Matte.

In an unfair country women work day and night far from home while their children learn to survive between loneliness and emptiness. They grow to become teenagers, locked down in one of many low income neighborhoods made up of identical small houses, outlined by overcrowding and scarcity. Their mothers, mostly workers in transnational factories, go in and out in buses that take them to a work place where they carry out twelve hour shifts two hours away from home, while their children muddle through their upbringing in tiny houses of 40 square meters. In spite of everything, they look for a way to move ahead and chase their illusions. This is a story full of youthful aspirations set in a context of difficulties and shortages.

Bodies and stories crowd together in front of the elevator operators’ eyes in the small metal box. Elevator operators are spectators, guardians and confidants. They are the ones who know the living history of the buildings.

The memory and testimony of two characters: Fernando García, known as Pinolito, who was a child actor in the seventies and Doña Lilia Ortega, his mother, an actress. Fernando came out as a transvestite, some years ago, and now calls himself Coral Bonelli. They live together in Garibaldi yearning for their past in the movies, while Coral bravely comes to terms with her gender identity. They both still perform.
