En zo begint de zoektocht van de prins naar zijn bruid. De gemene zeeheks heeft alles gehoord en gezien in haar magische bol. Ze vind dit de ideale kans om haar domme en lelijke dochter aan een man te helpen. De zeeheks bedenkt een gemeen plan om de kleine zeemeermin en de knappe prins niet dicht bij elkaar te laten komen.
