During her long journey to a foreign land for her dream marriage, Princess Yan (Charlene Choi) finds herself falling in love with General Cheng (Raymond Lam) who is leading the military escort. The stern Police Superintendent Liu played by Chu Chiang sets the stage for his later role in John Woo's The Killer while new comer Fei Hsiang must do Serpico-like things to find out which cop is paid for by the mob.

Taking place in 1941, Love in a Fallen City centers on Pai, a young woman who has been ostracized by her family for divorcing her rich husband.
