Albert and his best friend Jonas are orphans. They live in the future in a harsh dystopia where the women and children are all dead. The men have begun to change in their yearning for a woman.
The girls and boys of this world are in a constant war with each other: the boys have occupied an abandoned city while the girls live in a hidden forest. But when Albert, one of the boys, wounds a girl during a battle he decides to take care of her and follow her into her forest. Suddenly a new world opens up for him, and the revealing secrets Albert is about to discover changes him, and the rest of the world with him.
In 1963, a business adventure begins in a basement in a small Danish town. Within a few years, the company has 3500 employees, many of them women who are experiencing for the first time the joys and challenges of earning their own money.
