Me, You and Him
Act like Harry Dunstan (6 ep.)
event1992 star_border 6
top_panel_open
Me, You and Him is a British television sitcom, that aired on ITV from 30 July to 3 September 1992. It was made for the ITV network by Thames.
It was written by and starred Hugh Dennis, Nick Hancock and Steve Punt, all previously known - though particularly, Punt and Dennis - for their work on the alternative comedy and satirical circuit, especially through the BBC Radio 1 sketch show The Mary Whitehouse Experience, which had transferred to television and made Dennis and Punt into household names.
The plot centred around Hancock's character, John Hanley, a teacher of physical education who lived happily and lazily alone in a flat in the fictional area of Southbridge, London, until his old school friend, ambitious and obnoxious businessman Harry Dunstan, returns from working in France and moves in with him. Punt's character, the unemployed but intelligent Mark Prior, lives nearby but was forever visiting the others after arguing with his parents.
The six-part series was continuous in its plot, with Harry trying to win back the affections of girlfriend Clare with whom he had declined to keep in touch while in France. The other regular characters were Hanley's upstairs neighbours Helen and Todd, a reformed but still scary ex-convict and his wife, who was his probation officer. A running theme is Harry's discomfort with Todd living above due to his prejudice against criminals, even reformed ones.

The Apprentice: You're Fired!, sometimes named You're Fired!, The Apprentice: You're Hired! or You're Hired!, is a British television show made by the BBC and filmed at Riverside Studios as a spin-off from the reality TV hit The Apprentice. It was hosted by Adrian Chiles from 2006 to 2009, and Dara Ó Briain took over as host in 2010 after Chiles' move to ITV. The programme airs in a 30 minute slot after each episode of The Apprentice finishes. It was originally shown on BBC Three, but moved to BBC Two in 2007. Its format is similar to that of Big Brother's Little Brother and Strictly Come Dancing: It Takes Two. The final episode of each series is renamed "The Apprentice: You're Hired!" and involves interviews with the winner, the runner-up and Lord Sugar himself, and a reunion with all of the former candidates.
Canned Carrott
(12 ep.)
event1990 star_border 6
top_panel_open
Canned Carrott was a comedy stand-up and sketch-show by Jasper Carrott. Two of the regular sketches were "Wiggy" and "The Detectives".
The first sketch, "Wiggy", followed the adventures of a man with a bad wig. It was a slapstick comedy in which the characters were silent except for the narrator. It was similar in style to Mr. Bean or The Benny Hill Show.
The second, and the more popular was "The Detectives", starring the police officers Briggs and Louis, who watched too many TV Police dramas, and unsuccessfully tried to emulate them. Such was the popularity of this sketch that it was transformed into its own television series, The Detectives.
Due to their involvement in both Canned Carrott and the contemporary The Mary Whitehouse Experience, Steve Punt and Hugh Dennis also got their own sketch show, called The Imaginatively Titled Punt & Dennis Show, which ran for two series.
