The Swedish 19th century engineer Salomon August Andrée sets out to become the first man on the north pole. His idea is to launch a polar expedition using a hydrogen balloon, together with two friends. The balloon, "The Eagle", takes off from Svalbard in 1897, but the three men are not heard of again.
We get to follow a chaotic Christmas Eve where Sara invites her ex-husbands and their new families to celebrate with her reluctant partner, Janne. What, according to Sara, should have been a loving and traditional celebration soon develops into a comical mess where secrets are revealed and surprises follow each other.

In the future he meets Elsa and together they must solve Svante's problems and figure out how to live together when they are from two different eras.
