Muharem came to Sweden as a refugee from Prijedor in former Yugoslavia. He returns in the film to Prijedor and is confronted with the war and captivity in the Omar camp.

Mats Lundberg, then head of Marketing at Bofors, is seized with documents from the Stasi archives in Germany. Documents proving that Lundberg has been a frequent guest of the East Germans.

Engineer Axel Blomgren from Sweden has been employed at the Nobel Brothers Oil Field in Baku in 1910. The film is based on Axel's Diaries cross-cut with the story of how the Nobel brothers built an oil empire in the late 1800s. We follow Axel Blomgren until everything is confiscated by the communists in 1920 and Axel escapes home to Sweden.

Arne Evertsson is a lifeguard. In the film, he transports Ivo Maričić (1935-1998), who died in Sweden, to the grave in Croatia. The story begins when Ivo in the 1960s takes to Sweden in pursuit of a better life. His wife and children accompany him to his native village to bury him there.

Zdzisław Pieniowski (1916-2000) came to Mariefred with a Polish submarine during World War II. He stayed and married a Swedish woman and started a family in Sweden. The film is about the rootlessness of Exile.

The story of Dagny Juel (1867-1901) who was considered the muse of several artists and writers around the turn of the last century. Dagny married Polish writer Stanisław Przybyszewski. Dagny Juel spent time in the circles of August Strindberg and Edvard Munch.

After the fall of communism, the Catholic Church wants to reintroduce a total abortion ban in Poland. The film describes what happens to women when the new law forces them to have an abortion illegally.

He took a political and professional position and went his own way. Eugen became the painting prince and built his own palace at Waldemarsudde which he gave away after his death. Prince Eugen has just turned 150 and celebrated his anniversary at Waldemarsudde, the castle at Djurgården that he left to the Swedes. The Prince's path to independence and creation was crooked.
