What limits does Malena cross to get what she wants most? Malena is a 38 year old middle class doctor from Buenos Aires. One afternoon she receives the call from Doctor Costas, who informs her that she must travel immediately to the north of the country: the baby she was waiting for is about to be born. Unexpectedly Malena decides to embark on an uncertain journey, full of crossroads, facing all kinds of legal and moral obstacles that will make her constantly wondering how far she is ready to go.
The film tells how in 1970 a group of Argentine filmmakers - including Alberto Fischerman, Rafael Filippelli, Julio Ludueña, Miguel Bejo, Jorge Cedrón, Dody Scheuer and Luis Zanger - decided to make a short film each in one night. The occasion is perfect to describe the atmosphere of the '70s, the fever in which militants and publicists lived, the clash between art and politics. Julia, wife of a wealthy lord living near the Iguazu Falls, has nightmares for several days. The lord builds a fence to ward off the indigenous people, the Guarani tribe, but Julia is still anxious about her son Manuel’s safety. One day Manuel suddenly disappears, and when searching for him, Julia runs into her maid, Kerana, who was believed to have died one year before, under the falls.
Psychologist Julia is kidnapped and taken to an abandoned factory on the outskirts of the city by a group of men convinced that she has the information they need to carry out a crime. As the days go by, Julia begins treating them as patients to try to analyze them and be able to get out alive. Behind her kidnapping, there are deep secrets that the psychologist doesn't know and will make her connect with a wild and unknown aspect.
