Weary of the creative process, an old painter fixes a broken instrument he finds in the rubble. When his students go around looking for someone who can play the instrument, they meet other artists bearing the scars of war.
Hessan is a Syrian poet and the father of four blind daughters. He hides the war from his kids. He has been invited to attend a poetry forum, but taking the girls out and confronting them with the effects of war is a challenge.
A mini-bus is on a journey across the mountains to Kabul. Each person on the bus has a reason to take this journey. An old man is traveling to give a turkey to his grandchild, as his last wish before dying. However, the main road is blocked by insurgents. They decide to use an alternative road, which is not very secure, and there is still the possibility of getting caught by insurgents.
Two musicians joined a village protest against a newly built military base. Tragedy struck when the younger one died during the protest, with his final wish to be buried in front of the base. His heartbroken friend left everything behind but his guitar and moved to the village. Over the years, he struggles to keep the protest alive, visiting his friend’s restricted grave daily. As doubt creeps in, villagers begin to question the endless battle. Now, he faces a choice: continue fighting for a fading dream or finally let go of his friend’s haunting memory.
