Dr Lucien Blake left Ballarat as a young man. But now he finds himself returning to take over not only his dead father's medical practice, but also his on-call role as the town's police surgeon, only to find change is afoot, nothing is sacred, and no one is safe.

A not very effective, obsessive and socially inept junior lawyer (Sammy J) scrambles to hold onto his last ounce of dignity while clinging to the bottom rung of the corporate ladder. Meantime, his slovenly, unemployed flatmate Randy is desperately trying to win back the affections of his glamorous ex wife Veronica. Oh, and Randy's a purple puppet. But he doesn't care, nor does Sammy, and nor should you.

Flipside was a sketch and mockumentary comedy series broadcast late Saturday nights on ABC TV (Australia) in 2002. "Extremely popular amongst Australian TV fans in particular and comedy devotees in particular, Flipside offered a potpourri of zany sketches, music, monologues, and mockumentaries. The talented ensemble cast served up a bizarro world in which the normal was abnormal and vice versa. Though many of the segments were cleverly scripted, just as many more were spontaneous and off-the-cuff.
