The Chinese equivalent of "American Idol," the "Super Girls Singing Contest" spawned an unprecedented pop culture phenomenon. Drawing over 400 million viewers, the show's runaway popularity spurred the Chinese government to ban it after only two seasons.

A series of portraits of women from different fields of work who give us their views of the relationship between men and women – a Chinese woman who owns a beauty salon and hairdresser’s studio, workers at the first privately owned shoes factory, women who participate at the Erotic Fair in Budapest, a manager of a restaurant, and successful business women.

She threw out her husband for cheating, then later discovered she's pregnant with his child. But instead of telling him, she permits her old girlfriend, a closet lesbian, to move in with her. It's when he finds out that the trouble begins.
