This melodrama investigates the life of a sex worker, in a pseudo-documentary style.

Country girl Rebecca has spent most of her life on a farm in South Dakota, and, when she goes away to college in Los Angeles, Rebecca immediately feels out of place in the daunting urban setting. She is befriended by a savvy party animal named Crawl, who convinces the ambivalent Rebecca to stay in the city. When Thanksgiving break rolls around, Rebecca, no longer an innocent farm girl, invites Crawl back to South Dakota, where he pretends to be her fiancé.

But it all comes crashing down when she is accused of being a mastermind behind a brutal triple-homicide and is arrested and handcuffed in front of her own children. Richard is a spy. Ever since his wife Angela left him, cause she never liked what he did or became, his heart has not exactly been in it anymore. After failing to complete his mission, he decides to leave. His friend and boss, Tony Cooper, brings him to a plastic surgeon, so that he could change his appearance and disappear. A year later, he learns that the doctor who operated on him and Tony are dead. He suspects that someone's either trying to get back at him through them or is trying to flush him out. He then fears that Angela could be next. So he goes to her but she's gotten on with her life and doesn't want him back.

The ambitious Betsy is happy: she gets promoted to a leading management position. Her happiness is spoiled only a little by problems with a boyfriend who feels neglected and an harassing boss. She realizes much too late that her secretary Norma is after her job and step by step tries to ruin her career and private life.

A professor accidentally records the murder of a neighbor on videotape and finds himself framed for the crime.
