Kim has long wanted to make a film about his brother and his brother’s girlfriend – the former “Ex on the Beach” particpants Hampus and Olivia. But in the middle of recording they break up, the film is forced in completely different directions, and it instead turns into a poetic meta-narrative in which Kim’s dreamlike cinematic language tells the story of love and separtion.
Mira, a 60 year-old woman, appears to have a normal life. One morning she starts her day like any other, wakes up early, puts her family's clothes out to dry, purchases food for her fish and commits a bank robbery with a kitchen knife. She discovers her need for money is surpassed only by her need for love.
To attract new members to the church, a bizarre event is organized where a young man is to fall from the church tower. The young man already has a large group of followers, and in the region, no one wants to miss this fascinating event. The film is based on Pär Lagerkvist's 100-year-old novella, which has never felt more relevant than today.
