Joe's hearing impairment leaves him feeling like an outsider at school. When he's faced with a confrontation on the way home from school, he flees to the forest, where he stumbles upon Inga, who is hiding there for very different reasons.

Beca sees a ghostly figure of a young girl appearing around her rural hometown. The ghost seems to want Beca to help her in some way. Curiosity leads her to the house of an elderly neighbour, and Beca soon realises what she has to do.
