Mike Windgren works on a boat in Acapulco, but when the bratty daughter of the boat owner gets him fired, Mike finds new work as a lifeguard and singer at a local hotel. Tensions increase when Mike runs into the rival lifeguard—who is also the champion diver of Mexico.

When June marries and leaves, Rose turns her hope and attention to her elder, less obviously talented, daughter Louise. However, having her headlining as a stripper at Minsky's Burlesque is not what she initially has in mind.
A high-school football player is in love with a beautiful blonde classmate from a very wealthy family. He doesn't have the money to take her out, so in his desperation he robs his own father's grocery store. Things go downhill from there.
