When Doucette's sister Yvette, world traveler and author of the ""Perils of Paulette"" adventure stories, comes to visit, Paulette decides her own life is in need of excitement and adventure and resolves to follow in her aunt's footsteps. Paulette disappears the next morning, and Doucette fears her daughter is literally following in Yvette's footsteps...to a woodcarver's shop to stow away inside a shipment of miniature dollhouse furniture destined for Australia!
In an action-packed adventure through the nooks and crannies of a woodcarver's shop, Anatole and Doucette discover the true ""story"" behind Paulette's actions, and Paulette realizes the value of learning to look before she leaps.
