Conan and Kogoro see a news story on TV about the disappearance of traffic accident victim Butsumaru Daijiro. Mori Fusae, the woman who witnessed the accident, handed over Butsumaru's driver's license to the police, but Inukai Hajime, the man who caused the accident, vanished after saying he would take Butsumaru to the hospital. Meanwhile, the Mori Detective Agency receives a phone call from Butsumaru's wife Emiko, who hires Kogoro to find her husband and bring him back safe...
