Marukawa Publishing executive Isaka Ryuichiro is in love with his assistant Asahina Kaoru. He recalls when they met as children, through the time when Isaka hoped to become a writer. One night Isaka suddenly kisses Asahina and his affections are rejected. Asahina quits Marukawa to become assistant to Isaka's father.
