(Flashback) It's the 1920s when the whole country is fractured politically during the North-South split. Working at KAI-WAH's fruit stall, young NGO-TIN barely ekes out a living and couldn't care less about the political unrest. Suddenly, Miss KING shows up and forces CHI-CHING to prostitute herself to pay off a debt, so NGO-TIN and MAN-LUNG impersonate themselves as police officers, driving away Miss KING.
