While Peter Bruylands jogs in the Antwerp city park with his wife Barbara Van Dijck, his eyes are suddenly stabbed out by a masked assailant, who looses epilepsy pills while fleeing, apparently having failed to slit Peter's throat. While Jimmy and Mike stand guard at blinded Peter's hospital room, press photographer Ben Rijpens is allowed an interview. He tells how his son Jasper first lost the ability and later died after an accident and suddenly pierces Peter's ears, then escapes.
