1. Episode 1
In the tenth year of the Tin Po Era, five masked men carry out a night-time raid on General TUEN MUK HUNG and his subordinates. They steal the 7 Jewel Gold Cutlass. TUEN’s sworn brother TIK YING WAI suspects the Cangzhou Five Ghosts after discovering a Plum Bone Piercing Pin on TUEN’s forehead. TUNG LAM and her brother TUNG FEI live on their own. They save a woman CHING LEUNG, while they are collecting some herbs. FEI suggests sending her back to Hangzhou, but LAM objects. LAM tells him why they have to live in seclusion in Taohua Village for ten years. She dresses up as a man to take CHING home. FEI secretly follows them to Hangzhou. He reaches the Qiantang River to see the tides and meets a fisherman SHEUNG FOON, who has a rash, resembling a coin, on his face. FEI falls off a cliff while trying to retrieve a hairpin for YING HIU SUET, whose father is the owner of the Joyous House. A mysterious man saves him.… ...
2. Episode 2
LAM decides to stay in Hangzhou in order to clear her father’s name. FEI is gladdened by her decision. They settle at FOON’s home and are surprised to find that FOON is not very good at Martial Arts even though he is the student of CHO MAN SHAN, the master of Myriad Sword Manor. FEI goes with FOON to the Manor to investigate the background of the pin. When he sees FOON being bullied, he has a fight with FOON’s tormentors. FEI asks SHAN about the pin and realises that he looks smarter than he actually is. SUET presents her father YING CHIN TONG, who has returned from a long trip, with a pot of tea and a pair of new shoes. She is upset by TONG’s coldness. LAM finds out that SO’s home is in Qiantang. They visit the Commissioner’s home at night and unexpectedly meet a black-dressed man. They have a fight. FOON and FEI deliver some fish to the Joyous House. FEI tries to bring FOON and SUET together.… ...
3. Episode 3
LAM and FEI try to find out which construction workers know Martial Arts. WAI deliberately lets himself nearly get killed to quell their suspicions. He follows TSAT and finds out that the Five Ghosts are planning to take action. FEI agrees to help FOON woo SUET after he learns that FOON has been in love with her since he was 13. A girl SIU YUEN is being forced by her uncle and aunt to become the eighth wife of a tycoon YUE. FOON, FEI and SUET scold YUE for his shamelessness. They emulate the Three Musketeers and become sworn siblings. SUET replaces YUEN to pretend to marry YUE in order to humiliate him in front of everyone. FEI and FOON flee with YUEN. They are hunted by YUE’s men. Luckily, SO’s new wife TUEN DAN FUNG saves them. FUNG discovers that YUEN’s uncle was forcing YUEN to marry YUE because he owes YUE money from gambling. FUNG keeps YUEN as her maid. She praises FOON, FEI and SUET’s heroic act. LAM is sorry to hurt WAI.… ...
4. Episode 4
FEI asks LAM to cure FOON’s rash and his big tongue. LAM does not want to reveal her family secrets in medicine, so she initially refuses FEI’s request, but is eventually moved by FEI’s sincerity. LAM discovers that WAI knows Martial Arts by chance. She follows him and delays his trip to the Black Wind Forest, which allows the Five Ghosts to steal some jewels from the Treasure Trove. TONG and some businessmen visit FUNG at the Commissioner’s home. They suggest holding a big banquet to celebrate SO’s inauguration. FUNG asks them to gather a big sum of money for her to prepare the occasion. SUET is disappointed by her greed. They discover at the banquet that SO and FUNG have used the money to help people who have been affected by the Huanghe flooding. FOON’s speech is improving. His rash on the face is also fading. SUET praises his charm. However, he still has some moles on his face.… ...
5. Episode 5
LAM and the others discover the Cangzhou Five Ghosts in the cave, and are attacked by them. Luckily, WAI saves them. LAM suspects that WAI is with the Ghosts, so she searches his home and learns that he is her lifesaver. FEI suggests working with WAI to find the Ghosts, but WAI turns him down. SO orders all borders closed in order to catch the Ghosts. SUET cannot find the Dong Pearl. FOON has a fit at night. LAM stresses that FOON will soon die. FOON’s father SHEUNG MOON and mother TAI KAM learn that FUNG has the Dong Pearl. They ask to see FUNG, but are sent back by Madam KO. FEI and SUET try to get into SO’s house, but fail. SO and FUNG interrogate them in the detention centre. They are impressed by their love for FOON, so hand them the Pearl. MOON and KAM think that SUET is in love with FOON, which makes FEI feel sour. SUET gives FOON and FEI a jade tiger each.… ...
6. Episode 6
LAM, FEI and WAI try to catch the Cangzhou Five Ghosts from two directions. SHAN and KIT claim to have caught one of the Ghosts, but in fact it was LAM and FEI. Meanwhile, WAI discovers that the suspects they caught are not the real Cangzhou Five Ghosts and thinks that the real ones are still in Hangzhou. One of the Cangzhou Five Ghosts LUI CHUN wants to betray his partners and steal their wealth. He is nearly caught by the officials. The leader of the Cangzhou Five Ghosts saves him and reveals that they are going to have an important trade. SO and the others realise that the suspects they caught are not the real Cangzhou Five Ghosts after the interrogation. SHAN and KIT are dismayed. FOON’s disease is cured. SUET praises his handsomeness, which again makes FEI feel sour. She wets her late mother’s paper fan by accident and is scolded by TONG. He is reminded how SUET accidentally killed her mother.… ...
