1. Fiddy - Leelanau Peninsula
On this, our fiftieth episode of Under The Radar Michigan, we explore Michigan’s incredible Leelanau Peninsula. On the way up, we make a stop in beautiful Beulah for a drive around Crystal Lake, and a slice of Michigan tradition and history at The Cherry Hut. From there we make our way north to Empire for a classic Michigan beach and some Grocer’s Daughter Chocolates. Then we pile in the car and travel into the peninsula’s interior to visit a winery that’s rustic, raw, and real. We’ll also meet a chef who brought French country cuisine to Leelanau … and head to Suttons Bay for chow that foodies are definitely finding at Martha’s Leelanau Table. 2. Code Name - 'Eff, Eff, Ess' (Family Fun Special)
On this episode of Under The Radar Michigan, it’s our first ever ‘Family Fun Special.’ We get tons of emails all the time asking ... “Tom (that’s me) where’s someplace fun I can take my kids? Well, if you have a family, want a family, are planning a family, used to have a family, or are currently renting a family … this is the UTR episode for you. We’ve put together some of our favorite family-friendly destinations from our first three seasons for you to enjoy. So, tell the kids to stop texting and pay attention … because it’s the first even UTR Family-ganza !!!!

On this special episode of Under The Radar Michigan, we spend the entire show back in the Motor City … Why … because there’s so much cool stuff happening there right now, it’s blowing my mind. We’ll show you a flash mob that takes fine dining to a whole different place … why Shinola now means quality products made in Detroit … and, how the Legend of Lightshow Bob is lighting up the entire city. On this episode of Under the Radar, we’re back in Michigan’s incredible upper peninsula for a natural spring that’s so cool … it’s almost unnatural. We’ll also see the night sky like you’ve never seen it before, and take a leap of faith right into the refreshingly freezing waters of Lake Superior. And, if that’s not enough … we’ll also do some extreme mountain biking in Copper Harbor, and show you the stairway to heavenly jams and jellies. 5. What's the Opposite of an Ax Murderer? - Harsens Island, Grand Rapids
On this episode of Under The Radar Michigan, we take the ferry over to Harsens Island to find out what island life is like … Michigan style. We’ll see ships go by so close you can almost touch them … learn the incredible history of the island … and go back to school for a great meal. Then, we head west to Grand Rapids for a dwelling place that urbanites will love. We’ll also meet one of the new generation of craftsmen … and visit a downtown market that will change the way you eat, buy, and even think about food. On this special episode of Under The Radar Michigan, we go back through our first three seasons to bring you some of our very favorite food finds. That’s right, we found ’em … we ate ’em … and now we’re sharin' ’em with you. We travel to Muskegon, Tawas, Petoskey, Ann Arbor, Saugatuck, Monroe, Leeland, and even Ishpeming to find things that hit the spot. So if you’re a foody … a wannabe foody … or like me, you just like to eat a lot … get ready for what’ll soon become ‘your’ new favorite food finds. 7. Hit Me, I'm Open - Ann Arbor, Lansing
On this episode of Under The Radar Michigan, we’re back in Ann Arbor for a casual Cuban eatery, a museum of incredible natural history, and a place where you can learn to fight just like they do in the movies. Then, we leap up to Lansing for the very best of Michigan wines, a shop that’s chock-full of nuts, and a brand new general store in Old Town. It’s all right here in Michigan, and right here on UTR.
8. Detroit
On this special episode, we take you back to Detroit for a school that’s creating the next generation of artists and designers. We’ll also meet an urban visionary who’s so cool, it’s even in his name. And we’ll find out why Belgians bowl with feathers, visit a place where they choose their words very carefully, and go to the southwest side of Eastern Market for some awesome Italian pizza.
9. Royal Oak, Grand Rapids
We're back in Grand Rapids for a Frank Lloyd Wright house you Meyer May want to go visit. You’ll see what we mean. We also sample some excellent organic brews and see how two young guys are putting green spaces in high places. Then we head to Royal Oak for some of the most creative and delicious chocolate you'll ever admire … and then eat. We’ll also scream for some Ray’s Ice Cream, and much more!
10. SE Michigan
On this episode of Under The Radar, we're back in Southeast Michigan for some cheesecake that saved a family in Oak Park, a field of dreams come true for some special kids in Southfield, a laundry in Fenton that totally cleans up when it comes to great food, and some incredible dogs in Rochester who help the blind to see.
11. Activities
We show you some of our favorite Michigan activities from our first three seasons. We'll show you how to ride over the snow on fat tires in Traverse City, fly through the air on skis in Ishpeming, throw a stone on ice in Ferndale, and even surf the third coast in Harbor Country. And, if that's not enough, we have even more in store!
12. Holland, St. Joseph
We head to Holland for some incredible candle carving, meet an amazing woman who cast her fate to the wind, and eat some delicious pastries with the original Dutch Brothers. Then, we head to St. Joseph to explore a beautiful port city that has something for everyone. We'll also eat incredible pizza in an old train station and discover some unusual art that has a ton of personality.
13. Sunrise Side
We stop for some food in Imlay City that was so good, we saw double. Then we head to Oscoda to visit Michigan’s most tropical resort, and up to Rogers City to get organic with some real food and some real nice people. We also hit Alpena to discover Michigan marine treasures in a glass bottom boat, and finally, we visit the Bay City Tall Ships Celebration for some swashbuckling fun.
